  • British Library - The British Library has extensive collections of plays from many parts of the world. In particular, it has especially rich collections of modern British texts, which derive from its special status as a Legal Deposit library

  • Doollee.com - his site lists information on over 25.000 Plays produced or published in English since 1956, the year when John Osborne's Look Back in Anger was first performed at the Royal Court in London . Doollee also provides details on over 7,000 Playwrights with links to Agents, Theatres and Bookstores.
  • Drama script - Dramascript is a place where playwrights and publishers can list their plays and dramatists can review them. People producing plays can list nights they are playing, and more. And it's all free.
  • Dramatic Publishing - this site allows you to search by cast or genre here
  • eServer Drama Collection - This site contains a collection of original plays and screenplays, criticism and links to other sites concerned with theatre.   • Methuen Student Edition series offer a useful introduction to selected play texts. Each edition offers a chronology of the playwright's life and work, an introduction giving the background to the play, a discussion of themes and characters, an outline of plot and structure, notes on individual words and phrases in the text, photographs from both stage and film productions, suggestions for further reading.
  • Plays4Theatre - Playwright's co-operative. On this site you'll find a full catalogue of theatre play scripts plus details of the playwrights and authors. If you're a member of a professional or amateur theatre group or dramatic society you can order acting editions of play scripts and if you decide to stage a production you can arrange performing licences by email or regular mail

  • Scripts for schools - this sitehas expanded from an initial 10 published scripts in 1988, to 111in 2003 script titles. The scripts are aimed at many different reading levels (primary, intermediate, teen and adult), and encompass different curriculum areas such as social studies, science, and literature.

  • Theatre Museum - Britain's National Museum of the Performing Arts contains all the key collections on the British stage. This site explains the V&A's role in representing all the live performing arts, including drama, dance, opera, musical theatre, circus, puppetry, music hall and live art. The V&A also holds an online national video archive of stage performances.
