“There is good news and bad news concerning the International Drama in Education Research Institute (IDIERI) for 2009.
First, the bad news. This event was originally scheduled to be held in Arizona in the US. Unfortunately circumstances changed and we were longer able to hold the event in Flagstaff as we had originally planned. Johnny Saldana and I met and discussed this situation extensively and realized that the conference we wanted to hold could only be in Flagstaff. As many of you may know temperatures in southern Arizona where we both live are extremely hot in July--110 degrees F or about 43 degrees C and it is not conducive to a conference at that time.
So, it is with deep regret that we have had to decline hosting IDIERI in 2009.
Now, for the REALLY good news. Michael Anderson and his great group at the University of Sydney in Australia have enthusiastically agreed to hold IDIERI in Sydney. July 16-21, 2009. This group was second in the voting after the Kingston IDIERI. Look for more word from Michael soon about IDIERI 2009!”
