The box.
A lesson plan
Stimulus - Warm up game.
Using a scarf and the box, two students stand with their right toes together,
they must not move their right feet. One has the scarf tied to his right wrist,
the other has the box in the palm of her right hand. They must each try and
grab the others possession. Try this with several pairs for 10mins inside a
circle.
Model
Place the box in a container of some sort and ask for a volunteer. Brief the
student. The postman is collecting the mail and under no circumstances must
he give up any of the mail. TIR enters the scene having posted the box by mistake
and tries to persuade the postman to give it back. Improvise scene.
Pair work.
With a partner prepare a version of the above scene. Share a few of the
scenes.
Small groups.
The postman decides he wants to know what is in the box and so takes it home.
After a discussion with friends in the pub or family at home they open it. In
small groups show the discovery of the contents in a frozen image. Share these
and evaluate with the class. “What do you think they have found.
