The Standards and ICT
Currently there are two specific Standards that address ICT:
• Q 17 Know how to use skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT to support their teaching and wider professional activities.
• Q 23 Design opportunities for learners to develop their literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
What this means is that:
• You will make use of ICT to support your administration as a teacher.
• You will use ICT for your professional development and research.
• You will use ICT in your classroom.
At no point does it say that you must do all of this alone! Remember to involve other colleagues like your Drama Mentor and any available Technicians in your Department.
